Special Forces Team House Initiative
Chapter 60 (LX) of the Special Forces Association is located in Tampa Florida, home to the United States Special Operations Command which commands all Special Operations forces worldwide. Army Green Berets, Navy SEALS, Army Rangers, Air Force and Marine Special Operators, all of America’s most elite military forces are commanded from right here at MacDill Air Force base. Here of all places, you might think there would be a facility where Special Forces personnel could assemble, much like your local American Legion or VFW Post. Remarkably, there has never been such a facility here Tampa. So in the summer of 2004 the members of Chapter LX dedicated ourselves to change that. Since then our efforts have resulted in the purchase of a large lot approximately ¼ mile north of the main entrance to MacDill Air Force base.
Our floor plan includes 2 event rooms, a bar with kitchen, bathrooms, office space, display space, storage and more.
Now, in conjunction with our corporate partner the Tampa Green Beret Association, a Florida tax-exempt 501(C)(19) non-profit corporation, our goal is to raise $1,500,000 to begin the construction of a facility on this property. Called a “Team House” in the tradition of Army Special Forces, the building will serve the following purposes.
